Hoshin Policy Deployment Templates: X Matrix

Strategic plans developed using the Hoshin Kanri process are usually visualized in X-Matrices. A Top Level Matrix and a number of 2nd Level Matrices outline Breakthrough Objectives and Top Level Improvement Priorities that each of the stakeholders are accountable for. Depending on the structure of an organization, 3rd level Matrices may be used to drill down to other Improvement Priorities that help reach the goals. Each X-Matrix is supported by a Bowling Chart, or Scorecard. At the project level, an Action Plan is used in the format of an A3 report, alongside a Countermeasures report, which lists all the actions to be taken to put the strategy back on track. This document contains all the templates needed for the complete Hoshin Planning Process.

Hypothesis Testing Road-map App

In the simplest of terms, a hypothesis test is a way to use statistics to answer a practical question. Statistical tests of hypothesis can be used to provide an answer to pratical questions, based on sample data. Without hypothesis tests, we may overreact to situations without data, mistaking randomness for variation.

This BMGI wizard will help you walk through the Hypothesis Testing Roadmap to select the best hypothesis test for your project.

Hypothesis Testing Roadmap

Hypothesis tests are used to determine whether the observed differences between two or more samples are due to random chance or true differences in the samples. Based on the type of data and the situation, there are multiple hypothesis tests that can be run. This document provides a roadmap to help students find the right test to run.
